Our
Village
A
vast assortment of organizations and diverse places of worship are all within
walking distance from the heart of our town, Main Street. Over 125 retail shops
and dozens of restaurants, and service-businesses line Main and Conklin Streets.
Over the years, many groups have been formed for recreational and cultural
pursuits. We hope you will become an active participant in them. We are certain
you will find our award winning school system outstanding and offering your
children the highest quality of education.
Senior citizens' clubs and sports programs for children are provided on a
year-round basis. The Farmingdale Public Library on Merritts Road is a new
state-of-the-art facility and an architectural asset. Our local paper, the
Farmingdale Observer, covers all that is happening as well as listing times and
dates of meetings and events.
The Long Island Rail Road station, a National Landmark, is within walking
distance from almost anywhere in the village. It has been completely restored to
its original likeness, which dates back to the late 1800s.
Farmingdale has a very active Chamber of Commerce and welcomes you and your
patronage. Please enjoy and utilize all Farmingdale has to offer. Our schools,
our sense of community and our intergenerational family friendly town is
refreshing and unique.
